Removal of asbestos should always be carried out by trained professionals. Whilst some works on asbestos containing materials (ACMs) do not require an asbestos license, most do. It is a legal requirement in the UK that any company working on friable asbestos products (or working on larger scale asbestos projects) hold an asbestos license. 

Asbestos Licenses are given to companies who pass an intensive assessment by the HSE. The HSE checks to ensure the contractor has the correct systems & procedures in place to safely deal with asbestos.
